Our Team


Christopher J. Seling

Christopher J. Seling, founder of the firm, has always had the desire to not only own, but work with small businesses. He previously worked for different, publicly traded companies for twenty years, when he then began his own firm in 1982. In 1990, Chris acquired a small practice in Ellicott City which handled mostly individual tax returns, but also included business accounting and taxes as well.

Chris later formed "A Better Payroll Service, Inc." in 1992. This expanded the payroll niche of the business. The firm went from processing just a handful of payrolls to successfully generating about 200.

After wearing all the hats at some time, Chris has set his focus on business consulting, marketing and financial services. Since 1982, Chris has served on many boards and is a long time member in good standing of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce. Along with that, the Maryland Society of Accountants, National Society of Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the American Payroll Association.

Christopher J. Seling obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Baltimore in 1971, and has worked in the accounting field since 1962. 410-879-5985



Pamela R. Brooks

Pam earned her Bachelors Degree in Office Administration from Goldey Beacom College and successfully earned a Certificate in Medical Transcription. She has three years of experience in medical transcription as well as a very diversified bookkeeping background from farms to manufacturing. 



Larry Coleman

Background includes Controller/Business Manager for several small businesses including a plant & tree nursery, machinery manufacturing, and food processing. He has been in public accounting since 2005 working with individuals and specializing in business consulting and tax reporting.

Larry obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University in 1978, holds an active CPA license from the State of Maryland and is a member of the Maryland Society of Accountants. 



Joanna L Dietz, Bookkeeper

She has worked in Accounting since 1998. Prior to joining Seling and Associates, she worked for another public accounting firm. Joanna was responsible for daily input of clients' bookkeeping and banking information and payroll. Processed payroll and their quarterly reports.

Joanna has been a wonderful addition to our firm. She is eager to please and assist our clients in any way. 


Patti Hartman

Patti has been with Seling and Associates for over 15 years, working in all aspects of payroll preparation. She earned the designation of Certified Payroll Professional from the American Payroll Association and has taken numerous continuing education courses in the field. 


Carolyn Kussrow

Carolyn graduated from Towson University in 1970 then went on to obtain a Masters degree in Education.  After the birth of her children she changed careers to stay at home during their early years.  She then went on to become a certified tax preparer.  She worked in this field more than 25 years and enjoyed helping taxpayers pay the lowest amount of taxes possible.  Carolyn is always available to answer any question whether during tax season or throughout the year. 



Ryan Raitzyk

Ryan is a graduate of Towson University with a degree in accounting. He has more than 10 years of experience in tax preparation for both businesses and individuals; bookkeeping; general ledger accounting; finance and investment planning; and client relations. Ryan's goal is to ensure that our clients pay the least amount in income taxes allowable, through Federal and State tax guidelines. 



Jody Seling

Jody worked many years in the medical field, in both; Pathology and Cosmetic medicine. She carries over; both, her secretarial and customer service skills to our company and especially strives to make each and every client feel welcome and have a positive, good experience.
